Current Status
The data were instantly delivered to the PostgreSQL database by the systems employed in the company's infrastructure.
Microsoft Azure Analysis Services was used for the cube structure, while PowerBI served as the reporting system. Some of the reports were updated daily, some of them hourly and some of them were updated per 10-15 minutes. There was a cube structure composed of several individual cubes.
DAX was used to create some of the tables and extra columns in the cubes.
The ALIŞAN Logistics company had high volumes on the PostgreSQL database. New data was immediately written to PostgreDBs, and a request to retrieve data to update cubes and reports was received at frequent intervals on the same database through Analysis Services and PowerBI.
Need to Change Cube and Report Sources
In the present system, cubes and reports were updated, but these processes exerted too much load on the databases and caused performance issues.
Challenge
Bottleneck
Performance issues emerged as a direct consequence of the concurrent act of writing data instantly to the Postgre database and feeding the cubes and reports via the same database.
What does the client company want?
The organization sought to update the data via a new data warehouse without depleting the Postgre database, raise the competency of the individuals who would use the new tools, and have a data infrastructure backed by modern technologies.
What solution did we offer?
ALIŞAN know-how was first learned by TRENDIFY. Then we worked on the data structure in PostgreSQL. Following that, a data model appropriate for logistics processes was developed. Here, TRENDIFY's know-how was quite critical.
The cube and report-specific tables were transferred to Synapse. After that, the cubes that had the same hierarchy were merged, and the source that they were fed from was switched to Synapse. During every one of the processes, TRENDIFY's expert teams conveyed the synapse structure and information to the relevant authorized parties, thus ensuring that the new structure was used.
The queries of reports that were fed through direct query from Postgre were rewritten to be fed via Synapse by TRENDIFY. By building partitions within the cube, time and effort were saved. Flows were designed for the daily and hourly update of Synapse-fed cubes

How is the project progressing?
The queries of reports that were fed through direct query from Postgre were rewritten to be fed via Synapse by TRENDIFY. By building partitions within the cube, time and effort were saved. Flows were designed for the daily and hourly update of Synapse-fed cubes.
Testimonials
“In the modernization project of our data infrastructures, we quickly built the Synapse data warehouse environment with Trendify creating the data architecture suitable for our business processes. Currently, our reporting needs can be met from a single point within the company of Alışan Logistics. “
